Green approach

At statthaus, we have long attached great importance to the sustainable use of resources. In order to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible, we have gradually optimised all areas concerning energy and, of course, water consumption and are constantly working on further solutions. The German hotel and restaurant association Dehoga has awarded us its gold certificate for our environmentally conscious approach.

Heat and energy generation

• Exclusive use of non-nuclear green electricity (from “Naturstrom“) since 2015
• Main hot water production via air heat pump boiler
• Application for district heating in progress, central heating/remaining hot water via gas condensing boiler
• Solar energy supply planned: PV system (prohibited for listed buildings before 2023) has been approved by the Monuments Office

Waste avoidance and separation

• Avoiding disposable articles: no single-use plastic packaging for soap, shampoo, shower gel
• No single-use plastic packaging in the kitchen area
• Do without batteries (where possible), use rechargeable batteries
• Waste separation: recycling bin, paper and glass waste containers
• Unbleached recycling toilet paper

Energy saving

• Digitally controllable heating thermostats
• Water-saving inserts on showers and sinks
• Energy-saving light bulbs
• Refrigerators in unused flats are switched off
