In order to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible, we have gradually optimised all areas concerning energy and, of course, water consumption and are constantly working on further solutions. The German hotel and restaurant association Dehoga has awarded us its gold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statthaus.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Urkunde_DEHOGA_statthaus_gold.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">certificate<\/a> for our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statthaus.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Auswertung_DEHOGA_statthaus.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">environmentally conscious approach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Heat and energy generation<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Exclusive use of non-nuclear green electricity (from &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturstrom.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Naturstrom<\/a>&#8220;) since 2015<\/li>\n<li>Main hot water production via air heat pump boiler<\/li>\n<li>Central heating and remaining hot water via district heating<\/li>\n<li>Balcony solar power panels (800 watts peak)<br \/>\nFurther solar energy supply planned: PV system (prohibited for monuments until 2022) has been approved by the Monuments Officee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Waste avoidance and separation<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoiding disposable articles: no single-use plastic packaging for soap, shampoo, shower gel<\/li>\n<li>No single-use plastic or aluminium packaging in the kitchen area<\/li>\n<li>Do without batteries (where possible), use rechargeable batteries<\/li>\n<li>Waste separation: recycling bin, paper and glass waste containers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Energy saving<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Digitally controllable heating thermostats<\/li>\n<li>Water-saving inserts on showers and sinks<\/li>\n<li>Energy-saving light bulbs<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerators in unused flats are switched off<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Download info as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statthaus.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/statthaus_Nachhaltigkeit_Oeko-Standards_2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PDF<\/a> (German version only).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Green approach At statthaus, we have long attached great importance to the sustainable use of resources.
